Gordon Henry, a 33-year-old gold miner of Falls Top Village, North West District (NWD), was on Tuesday remanded to prison for the offence of murder.

After being on the run for a number of years, Henry was caught by the Police on April 20.

He appeared at the Port Kaituma Police Station at about 14:30 hrs before Magistrate Dylon Bess, who appeared via Zoom, to answer the murder charge.

It is alleged that he murdered his brother, Clinton Henry, on May 5, 2018, at Yambay, NWD.

The defendant was not required to plea and the matter was adjourned to June 6, 2023. Henry was finally arrested at the Five Star Landing, NWD while ranks were searching a shop for firearms, ammunition and narcotics.

Nothing illegal was found but they saw Henry and arrested him.

He reportedly confessed to the murder of Clinton, a 34-year-old miner.

“Da man wudda kill me if I didn’t kill he,” Henry reportedly told the officers.  Clinton was found with a wound to his head by his wife and taken to the Port Kaituma Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
