Guyanese all-rounder Kevin Sinclair missed out on a hundred and Kirk McKenzie notched up a fifty on a rain-affected second day of the Headley/Weekes Tri-Series at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua on Thursday.

West Indies Academy closed on 89-2 in response to Team Weekes’ first innings 401.

Resuming on 365-7, Team Weekes crossed the 400-run mark before being dismissed shortly after.

Sinclair, who started the day on 52, scored the bulk of the runs on day two, being dismissed for 86 off 125 balls (11x4s, 3x6s).

It was Sinclair’s fourth First-Class fifty in his 14th match, and his highest score in the format.

Zachary McCaskie (93), Brandon King (92) and Jahmar Hamilton (57) were among the runs on the opening day, as Nyeem Young finished with 3-91 and McKenny Clarke 3-107.

When West Indies Academy batted, Keagan Simmons was dismissed for seven and Ackeem Auguste 21, both falling to Jair McAllister.

Opener McKenzie is not out on 50; alongside him is Guyanese and first round centurion Kevlon Anderson on seven.

In the first game, West Indies Academy defeated Team Headley by seven wickets.
