The Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) will send a team to participate at West Indies Fullbore Shooting Championships in Antigua and Barbuda from May 7-14.

GNRA’s Secretary Ryan Sampson indicated the aim is to recapture the short-range team trophy they lost by one point in Jamaica last year.

The short range comprises 300, 500, and 600 yards events.

Lennox Brathwaite is the reigning individual champion and given Antigua does not have a long-range, Guyana will remain champions of that category.

The other members of Team Guyana include Ryan Sampson, Leo Romalho, Roberto Tiwari, Dane Blair, John Fraser, Sigmund Douglas, Peter Persaud, Ransford Goodluck, Dylan Fields, Sherwin Felicien and Mahendra Persaud (Coach).

They depart Sunday for the event and the first three days will be the individual championships.

Treasurer of the Guyana Olympic Association, Garfield Wiltshire, wished the team much success, handed over a cheque for financial assistance to Sampson, and indicated he looks forward to the report from the event.
