Jeremy Smith, a 31-year-old self-employed resident of Meadow Brook, Georgetown, was on Wednesday charged with the office of ‘larceny from person’ committed on Lenese Bobb-Semple.
Smith is accused of stealing one gold chain valued at $91,000 from Bobb-Semple on April 19 at Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara, Police Headquarters reported.
The accused appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty, and bail was granted in the sum of $40,000.
The matter was postponed to June 2, 2023, for disclosure.
