CANU seizes cannabis worth $2.5M; suspect arrested

A 41-year-old man was arrested by ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Wednesday after he was allegedly found with 18 pounds of cannabis worth $2.5 million.

In a statement, CANU said Anthony Oscar Wilson was nabbed during an operation at Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.

The cannabis was unearthed during a search at a shop in the area.

Wilson was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters where the narcotics tested positive for cannabis.

It was weighted and amounted to approximately 18 pounds; the equivalent of 8.2 kilograms.
