National footballer Jeremy Garrett donated football equipment and uniforms to North Ruimveldt Secondary School and Chase Academic Foundation – the two secondary schools he attended – on Wednesday.
The donation to each school comprised – 18 quality uniforms, 18 pairs of socks, seven balls, 10 hurdles, 20 flat cones, 10 high cones, and two sets of ladders.
According to Garrett, “It is a small gesture in me giving back to the institution that I’ve played for, for 3 to 4 years, where we dominated school football. This is just me showing my appreciation to Sir Chase and giving the youths the equipment and some of the resources that they may need.”
Respective Principals for both institutions applauded Garrett for his contributions and hailed him as a role model.
After completing his high school education in Guyana, Garrett went on to study and compete for Louisiana State University (LSU) Eunice, and has become a regular feature in National squads.
