Barbados fast bowler Jair McAllister picked up his maiden five-wicket haul as West Indies A took full control against Bangladesh A by stumps on day three of the first unofficial Four-Day ‘Test’ in Sylhet.

Resuming on 417-6, West Indies added just 10 to their total before declaring. The fall of skipper Joshua DaSilva for 77 prompted the declaration, leaving Guyanese all-rounder Kevin Sinclair not out on 53.

McAllister and fellow Bajan seam pair Raymon Reifer and Akeem Jordan then went to work with the ball, combining for nine wickets as Bangladesh A folded for 264.

West Indies A then enforced the follow-on, with Bangladesh A closing the penultimate day on 5-0, trailing by 158 runs.

McAllister took 5-60 off 15 overs to lead West Indies A bowling effort, with Reifer taking 2-44 and Jordan 2-53.

Saif Hassan missed out on a hundred, making 95; Jaker Ali scored 64 not out and Afif Hossain 45.

West Indies ‘A’ and Bangladesh ‘A’ will play three Four-Day ‘Tests’, with all games in Sylhet.
