More crossovers hurt APNU ahead of Local Government Elections
As the June 12 Local Government Elections (LGE) draws near and political parties ramp up their community engagements, more longstanding supporters of the Opposition A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) are joining forces with the governing People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C).
The latest crossover is Dawn Chapman, who on her 49th birthday today, told the News Room that she was always a huge supporter of the People’s National Congress (PNC) – the major Opposition party within APNU.
Promising to release more details on Saturday on why she is now joining forces with the PPP/C, Chapman told the News Room, “this is not no gyaff, laugh or joke; this is a serious thing.”
Chapman, who resides at Rosignol, West Bank Berbice, will be contesting Constituency 9 of the Rosignol/Zeelust Local Authority Area.
