Two Annandale residents nabbed with 10lbs of ganja

A man, 38, and a woman, 43, both residents of Annandale, East Coast Demerara (ECD), were on Sunday nabbed with 4.76 kilogrammes (or 10.5 pounds) of marijuana and have since been arrested.

Police Headquarters reported that ranks searched the premises where the two persons resided and discovered one brown bag containing four bulky parcels with leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be marijuana.

The parcels were reportedly shown to both suspects, who were told of the offence committed, cautioned, and arrested.

Subsequently, the four parcels of suspected narcotics were weighed and amounted to 4.76 kilogrammes.

Police said the two suspects are currently in custody and are slated to be charged. Investigations are ongoing.
