Ronald Backer, a longstanding member of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R), has thrown his support behind the governing People’s Progressive Party/ Civic (PPP/C) and says he will work towards getting them votes at the June 12 Local Government Elections.
“What I’ve been seeing in the administration is very good work and I will support the PPP in getting votes out in this election,” Backer said at the sidelines of an event on Saturday.
And he confirmed that he is formally switching over to the PPP/C.
Backer also served as the Former Political Assistant to Joseph Harmon, even while Mr. Harmon was Opposition Leader.
The longstanding PNC/R member is the most recent political player switching to the PPP/C.
Patricia Chase-Green, a former Mayor of Georgetown under the PNC/R which is a major party in the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) coalition, is also among those joining the PPP/C.
Hey…..we gettin’ shared governance.
