Resuming the final day on 47-0 in pursuit of an improbable target of 461 to level the series, Bangladesh ‘A’ managed to survive the entire day, thanks largely to opener Joy’s brilliant 114 not out.

The 22-year-old right-hander, who has played eight Test matches for Bangladesh, spent 422 minutes at the crease and faced 268 balls to spearhead the home side’s batting effort.

During his knock that included 14 fours, Joy shared an opening partnership of 93 with Zakir Hasan (43), 53 for the third wicket with skipper Saif Hassan (38) and 117 for the fourth wicket with Yasir Ali (67).

Bowling for West Indies ‘A’, Guyanese off-spinner Kevin Sinclair crowned a fine all-round match by taking 3-94. Sinclair also took 2-75 in the first innings and made 60.
