A 42-year-old man is in the custody of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) following the discovery of $1M in cannabis in a boat at Charity Stelling in Region Two on Friday.
In a press statement, CANU said a team of ranks carried out an operation at the stelling during which a search was conducted on a boat and a box containing several parcels of suspected cannabis was found.
Rocky Mangra of Grant St Joseph, Lower Pomeroon was the lone occupant of the boat, CANU said.
Mangra was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, where the suspected narcotics tested positive for cannabis.
It was weighted and amounted to approximately 6.9 pounds, with a street value of $1M.
Mangra is likely to be charged in the new week.
