A 30-year-old resident of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was on Saturday chopped about his body over an old grievance and the Police have since arrested his attacker.

Police Headquarters said they are investigating the wounding which occurred about 16:30 hrs at Bartica Arcade, Essequibo River.
They confirmed that the 46-year-old suspect, who flee the scene, was subsequently apprehended and is presently in custody.
According to a Police report, investigations revealed that Assaye was allegedly attacked by the suspect, who was armed with a cutlass.
Assaye was severely chopped to his left hand.
He was taken to the Bartica Public Hospital where he was admitted in a stable condition.
