A 32-year-old resident of Victoria, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was taken into custody on Friday following the discovery of 485 grams of cannabis concealed in a motorcycle seat.
Police Headquarters said ranks on a motorcycle patrol were at Haslington New Scheme, ECD when they observed the suspect, who was seated on a motorcycle, acting in a suspicious manner.
A search was conducted on his person during which a transparent plastic wrap containing a quantity of seeds, leaves and stems suspected to be cannabis, werebfound in the motorcycle seat compartment, Police said.
The discovery was made around 18:45 hrs.
The suspect was told of the offence, cautioned and escorted to the Enmore Police Station where the narcotics was weighed. It amounted to 485.3 grams.
He remains in custody, pending charges.
