Authorities have been unable to determine what caused the death of Petrous Ross and her 13-year-old daughter Gabrielle Ross because of the advanced state of decomposition the bodies were in.
Police Headquarters on Tuesday reported that post-mortem examinations were conducted by government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh on Friday.
“On completion of the examination the cause of deaths were given as ‘Undeterminable’.
“This was due to the state of both bodies which were then handed over to relatives for burial at a later date,” Police said.
The woman and her daughter were last seen alive on January 23, 2023, by the ex-husband, 58-year-old Hemanchal Latchman, a mechanic Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara, according to Police Headquarters.
It was only when he visited the house last Wednesday at around 14:00 hrs that he discovered them dead. According to a Police statement, in the month of September 2022, the husband moved out of the said house but continued to pay the rent and make visits.
Sleuths probing the discovery of the decomposed bodies found a suicide note in addition to three plastic bottles, a glass bottle containing liquid substances and two cups.
The Child school records would prove when she last went to school also if the mother works her records of last day to work should be checked.
