Malik Forde, a 27-year-old man of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was nabbed with three parcels of cannabis weighing some 4.3 kilogrammes (or about 9.5 pounds) and worth about $1.6 million.
According to a release from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), officers conducted an operation at the man’s house on Monday. There, the narcotics and a 12-gauge bullpup shotgun were found.
CANU said Forde and two other suspects were escorted to its headquarters.
Investigations are ongoing.
