Berbice man, 44, arrested with ganja worth $12.5M

Paul Lewis, 44, of No. 30 Village, West Coast Berbice was arrested on Wednesday at his home by ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) with a large quantity of marijuana.

In a statement, the Unit said its officers conducted an operation at the residence and a subsequent search of the premises revealed 22 parcels of marijuana.

Lewis was escorted to CANU Headquarters with the marijuana.

The narcotics tested positive for cannabis amounting to approximately 41.79 Kgs. (about 92.13 lbs.), with a street value of approximately $12.5 million.
