Young security guard dies hours after motorcycle accident


A security guard from Black Bush Polder, East Berbice-Corentyne, died hours after he crashed into another motorcyclist along the Mibicuri road on Thursday.

Dead is Navindra Budhu, 20, of Mibicuri North, Black Bush Polder.

One of his relatives, Mala Harrichan, disclosed that Budhu left home around 15:30hrs to head to one of the commercial banks in Rose Hall Town.

He was returning home around 17:30hrs on his motorcycle when he reportedly crashed into another motorcycle, a short distance from where he lives.

Marvin Narine, the other rider involved in the accident. He is currently hospitalised in an unconscious state, nursing serious injuries

Relatives found him lying unconscious on the road.

The two motorcycles were also there, but the other rider Marvin Narine was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was admitted as a patient with serious injuries.

It is understood he is unconscious.

Budhu was taken to the Mibicuri hospital and was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he succumbed at around 06:00hrs on Friday.

According to the relative, Budhu suffered a fractured skull, broken limbs and other injuries.
