The ruling Peoples Progressive Party (PPP) will now dominate 82.5% Local Authority Areas, results of Monday’s Local Government elections show.
It means the PPP will control 66 of the country’s 80 Local Authority Areas, including seven of the country’s 10 towns.
The results also show that the opposition A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) losing 40% of the areas it won in the last elections in 2018.
This means APNU will now only control 14 Local Authority Areas, as opposed to 23 last time around.
