Police have arrested an 18-year-old man who was reportedly found to be in possession of an illegal firearm.
Police Headquarters reported that at around midday on Friday, a party of policemen on patrol duty went to Woolford Avenue in the vicinity of Camp Street and contact was made with the teenager “who was seen acting in a suspicious manner.”
According to the Police report, a search on his person revealed a black metal object, suspected to be a firearm, with serial number and a magazine. The items were found in a haversack he was carrying.
He was told of the offence committed and cautioned and he replied “Alex give me this gun officer”.
He remains in custody at the Alberttown Police Station where the suspected firearm was lodged.
