Two men were sentenced to 35 months in jail on Monday after they admitted to carrying out an armed robbery at Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice (WCB) last week Wednesday.
Balram Latchman called “Chris” of Lot 13A Bath Settlement, WCB and Marcus Marcel called “Buckman” of Estate Road, Experiment Bath Settlement, WCB appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court.
The charge was laid under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
Both men pleaded guilty to the offence and were each sentenced to 35 months imprisonment.
The robbery occurred around 23:00hrs on Wednesday, June 14 at Experiment Bath Settlement, WCB.
The victim was a 55-year-old man.
At the time, the two men were armed with cutlasses.
