A 20-year-old man, who has faced a string of robbery charges in local courts, appeared at the Georgetown’s Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, charged with another theft, and was remanded to prison.

William Goodasaul, 20, of ‘C’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty and denied a charge of robbery with aggravation.

It is alleged that on June 11, 2023, at Camp and Quamina Streets, Georgetown while being in the company of another Goodasaul robbed Ronaldo Torres, a policeman, of one gold chain valued at $150,000 property.

According to Police Prosecutor Quincy Lacon, the victim and the defendant are known to each other.

On the day in question, the victim was attacked and robbed by Goodasaul and another man while walking along Camp Street.

Police Prosecutor Lacon objected to bail on the grounds of the seriousness of the offence and that the defendant has been charged three times before for robbery.

Bail was refused and Goodasaul will make his next court appearance on July 12, 2023.
