Body recovered in Demerara River identified as GEB Security Guard
The body of a man was on Monday recovered in the Demerara River after he reportedly fell overboard.
The dead man has been identified as 37-year-old Calvin Sancho of Coldingen, East Coast Demerara; he worked as a security guard with GEB Security Services.
Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred at about 15:00 hrs on Sunday, June 19. Sancho’s body was found floating in the Demerara River in the vicinity of the Houston area on Monday.
The News Room understands that Sancho and some other men were on a vessel and as they were about to dock, he reportedly lost balance and fell overboard.
