Gold miner remanded for attempted murder

Fifty-three-year-old Alberto Anderson called ‘Monkey’ was remanded to prison on Monday after he was charged with the attempted murder of Junior Anthony Melville.

Police Headquarters reported that Anderson of Pakera Road, Matthew’s Ridge, North West District, was arrested on June 16.

He appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Chief Magistrate, Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus.

Anderson was not required to plea to the offence which was laid contrary to Section 103 (c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act Chapter 8:0.

The case was adjourned to July 20 when it will be called again at the Matthew’s Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
