Akeem Lowe, 25, was on Friday remanded to prison after he was charged with the offence of rape.
Lowe appeared before Magistrate Christel Lambert at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court in Region Seven (Cuyuni- Mazaruni).
He was charged with the offence of Rape of a Child Under 16 Years Contrary to Section 10 3) of Guyana’s Sexual Offences Act.
Lowe was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
The case was adjourned to July 4 for statements.
