19-Y-O dies in Essequibo accident

Mario Adams, a 19-year-old man of Lima Sands, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam), died after he crashed into an electrical pole while driving at a fast rate early Sunday morning.

Police Headquarters reported that Adams was driving motorcar #PAD 5291 at about 01:15 hrs along the Bush Lot public road and while negotiating a right bend, he lost control and collided into the pole on the western side of the road. The car subsequently caught afire.

Adams and four occupants were taken out of the vehicle. The occupants are: 32-year-old Troy Ross of La Belle Alliance, 21-year-old Dean Cortman of Lima Sands and another unidentified man who subsequently fled the scene.

The driver and the occupants were taken to the Suddie hospital. Adams was pronounced dead and his body was taken to the hospital’s morgue pending a post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, Ross was admitted as a patient with lacerations about his body and Cortman was admitted for trauma to the head and lacerations about his body.
