Prison escapee sentenced to 18 months in jail

Keyambo Jarvis was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment on Tuesday after pleading guilty to robbing a Police Officer and escaping Police custody earlier this month.

Jarvis appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Jarvis was accused of robbing Police Lance Corporal Ronaldo Torres of one gold chain valued at $150,000 on June 11 at Camp and Quamina Streets, Georgetown.

He was also accused of escaping Police custody on June 14 after he was detained at the Brickdam Police Station for the robbery.

Jarvis pleaded guilty to both charges that were read to him by Magistrate Daly.

As such, he was sentenced to serve eighteen months imprisonment. He is expected to make his next court appearance on July 26 for report.
