An accident between a car and a motorcycle on the Kara Kara Public Road on Thursday resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man.
He has been identified as Sheldon Solomon of Lot 36 Old Kara Kara, Mackenzie, Linden.
Police Headquarters said they are investigating the accident which occurred at about 08:00 hrs.
At the time, Solomon was the rider of the motorcycle, CL 9293.
Police said the motorcar, PZZ 8967 which was driven by 24-year-old Judah Lorrimer of Carter Street, Kara Kara, collided with the motorcycle.
According to a Police report, Soloman was speeding east along the northern side of the public road while the car was heading south on Thomas Street (an access road) and turned onto the main road and into the path of Soloman.
As a result of the collision, Solomon fell on the road and sustained serious injuries. He was picked up and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex.
However, due to his condition, he was being transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital but he succumbed on the way.
Police said the driver of the car was subject to a breathalyzer test but no alcohol was detected.
