Police have arrested a 24-year-old motorcyclist after he was allegedly found in possession of 12.9 grams of suspected marijuana hidden in the crotch of his pants on Saturday.
According to a Police report, two ranks were conducting mobile patrol duty around 17:00 hrs at 7 Miles Mahdia, Potaro when they stopped the motorcycle driven by Quacy Hodge.
Police Headquarters said that Hodge was initially asked to produce his driver’s license and documents for the motorcycle which he hadn’t in his possession.
As a result, Police said Hodge was escorted to the Mahdia Police station where a search was conducted on his person.
“At this point, Hodge started to behave in a very disorderly manner. The ranks held on to Hodge and searched his person, during which they found a transparent ziplock bag containing several small parcels with leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis, which was found in his crotch,” Police said.
Hodge was told of the offence, cautioned and Police said he admitted ownership of the cannabis.
The suspected marijuana was lodged and Hodge was arrested.
The suspect, who works as a porknocker, is likely to be charged soon.
