Man, 31, dies after vehicle topples along Ituni trail

Rodwell Peters, a 31-year-old driver, died after he was pinned under a vehicle that toppled along the Ituni trail in Region 10 on Monday.

Police Headquarters reported that the fatal accident occurred around 16:00 hrs. Peters and Damian Fraser, a porter, were travelling in a motor vehicle (#GAD 6596)

The men were descending a hill in the vehicle; they eventually approached a right bend at a fast rate of speed. Peters lost control of the vehicle and it subsequently toppled.

Peters was pinned under the vehicle, while Fraser, who received injuries, was picked up and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was admitted as a patient.

At about 02:30hrs Tuesday, the driver’s body was retrieved from the accident site and taken to the Mackenzie Hospital Complex in Linden; he was pronounced dead.

The body is currently awaiting an autopsy.
