Shortly after he was arrested by the Police on Wednesday, an East Coast Demerara (ECD) man, who was wanted for the offence of felonious wounding, was allegedly found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Police Headquarters said that Michael Isaacs, 34, of Dazzle Housing Scheme, ECD, was apprehended at about 09:45 hrs at the Bartica Stelling.
A search was conducted on his person during which an unlicensed .32 pistol was discovered, the Police said.
According to the Police report, Isaacs was told of the offence, cautioned and he reportedly admitted to ownership of the firearm.
He remains in custody at the Bartica Police Station and is expected to be charged with both offences.
