Former Gov’t Minister on $200k bail as Police probe indecent exposure complaint

Former Minister of Public Infrastructure and Member of Parliament, David Patterson is likely to face charges related to indecent exposure following a complaint made to the Guyana Police Force that he urinated and exposed his genitals in public.

Patterson, on Wednesday, turned himself over to the Police and was placed on $200,000 bail.

He was wanted for questioning in relation to an allegation of exposure of genitals, an offence under the Sexual Offences Act, Cap. 8:03.

The incident occurred on July 16, 2023 at Seaforth Street, Campbellville, Georgetown, in close proximity to his party’s (Alliance For Change – AFC) Georgetown Headquarters.

It is suspected that Patterson was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

While at the police station, Patterson was told of the allegation and arrested.

The video recording was shown to Patterson and he chose to remain silent. He was subsequently placed on $200,000 bail.

And as the investigation continues, Patterson was ordered to report to investigators on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

The News Room was told that after the police report was made, an investigation was immediately launched by the Guyana Police Force (GPF).

Once the investigation is complete, the file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice on the way forward.

    Oh lord……not sure a CCTV camera is “public”………but somebody should report the person who parked the white car with the wheel over de trench.
