FL Sport, organizers of the inaugural One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast have taken another major step to ensure that the tournament is of the highest standard by acquiring a live scoring app.

Spectators may follow the games from all six venues right from the palm of their hands regardless of where they are geographically. The entrusted app is CricHeroes, another first for such a tournament in Guyana.

Once fans are logged into the app, they will choose which games they wish to follow and see the action ball by ball. This will be especially useful on the opening day of the 32-team tournament when the round of 32, 16, and quarter-finals will go down across six venues in Georgetown.

The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, played at the transformed Everest Cricket Club ground, followed by the specially arranged celebrity match and the grand final. All four matches will be captured on CricHeroes and streamed LIVE via www.flsport.gy, OGT10 Tapeball Blast Facebook page, and E-Net cable channel E2.

FL Sport is committed to a quality product which is the least a tournament of this magnitude deserves,” said Co-Director of the tournament, Romario Samaroo. A team of competent local statisticians has been assembled, and Samaroo believes they have the track record to deliver even though it is their biggest undertaking to date.

“The use of technology [electronic scoring] eliminates the human-error factor, and the information such as most runs or most wickets are readily available, so this is the way to go. Also, everyone has a smartphone these days and will feel like they are part of the games,” Samaroo concluded.

The One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast bowls off on Saturday, July 29, with 32 teams in action at Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary, YMCA, Queen’s College, Transport Sports Club, GDF base Camp Ayanganna and Everest Cricket Club.

President Dr. Irfaan Ali is the tournament’s patron, which will see $1M going to the inaugural champions.

Corporate support for this tournament is coming from Kares Engineering Inc, GT Beer, Mohamed’s Enterprise, Premier Insurance, Regal Stationery and Computer Centre, Guyana Tourism Authority, Avinash Contracting and Scrap Metal, Continental Transport Inc, Assuria, Ansa Motors Guyana, Star Rentals, E-Net, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, USA Cricket Zone, First Change Builders, Impressions, Jacob’s Jewellery, Beacon Café, RS53 RestoBar and Lounge, Zeus Enterprise, Hits and Jams Entertainment, Montra Restaurant and Lounge, The New Doctor’s Clinic and Trophy Stall.
