Four years jail, fine for man caught with cannabis

More than a year after he was arrested and charged, a Georgetown resident was on Monday sentenced to four years imprisonment and fined $844,200 for trafficking 938 grammes of cannabis.

Caldwell Jackson was on trial before Magistrate Dylon Bess at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

On Monday, he was found guilty of the charge which stated that on May 11, 2022, he had 938 grammes of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Ranks of the Customs Anti- Narcotics Unit (CANU) arrested Jackson at Queen Street, Kitty in May 2022 after they discovered the narcotics on his person.
