Guyana Under-13 team defeated Trinidad and Tobago Under-13 side by five runs in game three of their four-match 40-over bilateral series on Sunday to wrap up a historic series triumph with a match to spare.
After the first game was a no-result owing to rain, the Guyanese boys turned up in fine style in games two and three to defeat the home side.
Under the watchful eyes of Head Coach Ameer Rahaman, Guyana won the second match by three wickets.
“I’m extremely, extremely proud of each one of you,” Rahaman told the players at a team huddle after the series win on Sunday afternoon at the National Cricket Centre.
“All 15 of you guys who gave the effort out there, I’m extremely proud of you. This is what we came for. I love the fight that you guys have shown; it shows that you guys wanted it more. I can proudly say the future is a wonderful thing for all of you guys.”
