Police have arrested 27-year-old Frank Junior Goring in connection with the fatal stabbing of his brother which occurred on Wednesday night at Sara Lodge, Stewartville, West Coast Demerara.
Dead is Jermaine Goring, a 35-year-old welder of the same address.
Police Headquarters reported that Jermaine returned home from work on Wednesday afternoon and started preparation to cast a water trestle.
At about 19:15 hrs, he asked Frank to fetch some sand to mix cement and in the process, he chided Frank for being lazy and fetching the sand like a ‘Lamata’.
This resulted in the brothers exchanging words, and Jermaine reportedly cuffed the suspect.
According to the Police, Frank, who had a knife in his possession, stabbed his brother multiple times about the body rendering him unconscious.
His 60-year-old mother and 61-year-old father rushed him to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where he died while receiving medical treatment.
The body was escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Home, awaiting an autopsy.
The scene was processed, and the knife was retrieved. The suspect was arrested and is currently in custody.
