Eric Fraser, a 42-year-old construction worker of Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD), died after he was stabbed to his left side groin on Thursday night.
Police Headquarters reported that the murder occurred around 19:30 hrs at Haslington North.
It was reported that Fraser, also called ‘50 cent’, was at a barbershop in the area with his friends. He got into an argument with another man who Police said used an “unknown weapon” to stab Fraser to his groin.
Fraser then ran about 200 feet and collapsed.
He was later picked up by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) from the Melanie Fire Station and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination. Investigations into the incident continue.
