Sophia man walks to Police Station after stabbing 25-Y-0 to death
Police are investigating the murder of 25-year-old Mark Harris, a horsecart operator of Plum Park, Sophia, which occurred at about 19:30 hrs on Monday.
The 20-year-old suspect, who is a labourer from the same community, walked to the Prashad Nagar Police Outpost and handed over the murder weapon to the Police after committing the act.
Police Headquarters revealed that Harris and the suspect are known to each other and had an ongoing problem.
On Monday night, the two men were at a shop in Plum Park when an argument ensued.
Harris, who was reportedly armed with a knife, attempted to stab the suspect.
The suspect, however, held on to the knife and armed himself with a pair of scissors which he used to stab Harris multiple times.
Harris ran away and collapsed a short distance away; he was picked up in an unconscious state and escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
One sliver blade knife without a handle was found at the scene. Several persons in the area were also questioned. Investigations are ongoing.
