ECPFA Senior League: Unbeaten Queenstown United beat Charity 2-0

The Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon Football Association (ECPFA) Senior League recently produced an exhilarating match as Queenstown United continued their unbeaten run, securing a resounding 2-0 victory over Charity.

The first half of the game proved to be a fierce battle between the top-ranked Queenstown and second-ranked Charity.

Despite the intensity, neither team managed to find the back of the net. It wasn’t until the 71st minute that the deadlock was finally broken.

Romario Walcott of Queenstown United showcased his prowess with a stunning goal from outside the 18-yard box, leaving the opposition goalkeeper with no chance.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Walcott’s shot found the back of the net, putting Queenstown United in the lead.

Just four minutes later, the jubilation continued for Queenstown United as Okeffe David scored a crucial header, assisted by a well-placed free-kick delivered by Simeon Schroder, highlighting the team’s coordination and strategic play.

With a 2-0 lead, Queenstown United secured their victory, further solidifying their position at the top of the league standings.

The competition will continue with an exciting double-header at the Multi Ground on Saturday, August 19.

The action will kick off at 14:00h with a bottom-of-the-table clash between Tapakuma and Good Hope. Both struggling teams will be eager to secure their first win of the season, making this a match not to be missed.

From 16:00h on the same day, Henrietta United will lock horns with Dartmouth Dominators. With both teams aiming to climb the league ladder, this encounter promises to be a showcase of determination and skill.

The following day, Charity and Mainstay Goalstar go head-on from 16:00h.
