Man, 34, found dead in clump of bushes

Police are investigating the death of Ovril Adamson Pedro, a 34-year-old man, whose body was discovered Saturday morning in a clump of bushes at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara.

Police visited the scene at about 10:00 hrs. A press release from Police Headquarters noted that Pedro’s body was discovered at around 08:00 hrs by Manuge Samaroo, a 53-year-old fisherman who went to catch ‘Iguana’ in the backlands.

“He reported his discovery to the Police. The body was examined for marks of violence, but none was seen,” the press release noted.

According to the Police, a black wallet containing Pedro’s ID card and a bank card were found in the right-side front pants pocket. A Samsung Galaxy S9 cellphone was also found next to the body.

Pedro was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was officially pronounced dead. The body is now at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
