Statement by the Guyana Football Federation

Guyana’s Under-17 Girls National Team will not participate in the August Concacaf Girls Under-17 qualifiers but instead, will focus on an Under-17 Girls Tri-Nation Football Tournament involving Suriname and French Guiana.

The GFF has officially informed Concacaf of its decision to opt out of the August 25 to September 2 Women’s Under-17 Championship qualifying competition and will now focus its resources on preparations for the Tri-Nation tournament.

Guyana’s Under-17 Girls commenced training a few weeks ago and are confident of performing well against Suriname and French Guiana.

The GFF remains committed to ensuring our national players are given opportunities to represent Guyana internationally. Full details of the Tri-Nation tournament will be released soon.
