Police continuing search for suspect in Leopold St stabbing

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is continuing the search for the suspect who fatally stabbed Noel Fraser as he was parting a fight at Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown more than a week ago.

Regional Commander of Police Division 4 ‘A’, Assistant Commissioner, Simon McBean on Monday confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing.

During a telephone interview, the Commander assured that all the ‘necessary persons’ were contacted as part of the investigation but the suspect, a 25-year-old gold miner, is yet to be arrested.

Police Headquarters had said Fraser, 18, a forklift driver, was stabbed at about 08:00hrs on August 05, by a 25-year-old gold miner.

Police Headquarters only identified the suspect as a resident of Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown and also from Tucville.

Fraser’s family gave the suspect’s name as Akeem Dazzel.

Fraser lived at the same address in one of the houses on the property.

Fraser died while receiving treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital. He was stabbed in his right side chest area, which according to the post-mortem examination (PME), was the cause of death.
