Eon Jordon, 30, on Friday appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly charged with smuggling cannabis inside the Prison Headquarters in Georgetown.
Jordon pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on August 22, he had 227 grams of cannabis in his possession.
The illegal drugs were found hidden in two pairs of slippers during a routine search when Jordon visited the Prison Headquarters.
The Prosecutor objected to bail based on the seriousness and prevalence of the offense.
The accused was remanded to prison and is slated to make his next court appearance on September 15.
