Guyana sweeps team events to retain Senior Caribbean Squash title

Another year, another outstanding display by Guyana at the Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Senior Championship that concluded in the Cayman Islands on Saturday.

Guyana secured gold in the Men’s, Women’s and Veterans’ team events to emphatically retain their overall title.

The men defeated the Cayman Islands 3-2, while the women got the better of Barbados 3-1.

Guyana also won gold in the Women’s Doubles (Ashley Khalil and Ashley DeGroot), along with silver in the Mixed Doubles (Jason-Ray Khalil and Nicolette Fernandes) and bronze in the Men’s Doubles (Jason-Ray Khalil and Daniel Ince).

Additionally, Nicolette Fernandes got silver in the Women’s Singles, while 2022 champion Ashely Khalil got bronze.

Following the success, the Guyana Squash Association has expressed thanks to key sponsors ENet, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Republic Bank, CAGE Inc., and ANSA McAL Trading Limited for their support.
