Father of five remanded for trafficking marijuana
Richard Thompson, a father of five, was Monday remanded to prison after he was charged with trafficking a quantity of marijuana.
The 36-year-old of Meadow Brook, Squatting Area, Georgetown, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Rhondell Weever to answer to the charge.
It is alleged that on August 15, at Meadow Brook, Squatting Area, Thompson had in his possession 730 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Police Prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds of the seriousness and prevalence of the offence, the gravity and the quantity of the narcotics.
Bail was refused.
Thompson is scheduled to make his next court appearance on 25th September for statements.
