Man, 42, granted bail on cybercrime related charge

Seon Clarke, 42, of Bent Street, Worthmanville, Georgetown appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Monday to answer to a cybercrime related charge.

Clarke made his appearance before Magistrate Rhondell Weever and secured bail in the sum of $60, 000.

It is alleged that on May 15, 2023, Clarke used a computer system to publish electronic data containing personal information of a woman, intended to cause her public ridicule and emotional distress.

The Police Prosecutor had no objections to bail but requested that Clarke lodge his travel documents and report to the CID Headquarters every fortnight.

Following the defendant’s not guilty plea, bail was granted by Magistrate Weever in the sum of $60,000 on the grounds that the defendant report to the CID Headquarters every other Friday, commencing on 8th September,

Clarke is expected to make his next court appearance on 11th September for statements.
