Four bandits rob Lusignan Chinese supermarket

Police are on the hunt for four bandits who stormed a Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD) supermarket and allegedly carted off with an undisclosed amount of cash and a quantity of phone cards.

The robbery occurred at around 19:34 hrs Tuesday at the Hong Yuang Supermarket at Lusignan. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

Police Headquarters said the four suspects arrived at the supermarket on two XR motorcycles.

At the time, two women, Xie Zie Ying, 50, and Xie Zi Xia, 46 were on cashier duties.

Police said the bandits parked in front of the supermarket and then two of them rushed into the building and held the cashiers at gunpoint.

“After that, they (bandits) went into the cash register and took the items mentioned (cash and phone cards),” Police noted.

The bandits then returned to their motorcycles and escaped south on the Lusignan Access road. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

    This seems to be a group of ‘regulars’ who are operating in similar fashion ! I am very surprised that the police is not succeeding in finding these culprits even though these men are without gloves as is seen in this picture! What is happening with finger prints are they no longer used?
