Four years jail, $1.6M fine for duo caught with cocaine pellets

Two men who were charged with the possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking were on Thursday found guilty and sentenced to serve time in prison.

Ron Reid and Nigel Dundas appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weaver at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where they were both found guilty and sentenced to four years imprisonment with a fine of approximately GY $1.6 million each.

Reid and Dundas were arrested on March 2, 2022, in West Ruimveldt, when CANU Officers conducted a search of the premises and discovered over 100 cocaine pellets, amounting to approximately 1.084 kg.

The cocaine had an estimated street value of $1.2 million.
