An 18-year-old handyman of Laing Avenue, Georgetown was arrested at around 03:49 hrs Sunday after ranks on a mobile patrol in Region Three found him with a firearm.
The Police ranks, acting on information, went to Nicola Sports Bar at Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo where they contacted the 18-year-old Handyman.
The ranks conducted a search on his person and a firearm was found in his pants pocket.
The ranks took possession of the firearm; the barrel had no ammunition in it.
The teen was told of the allegation, cautioned, arrested, and escorted to the Leonora Police Station with the firearm.
He is in custody as investigations continue.
