Two brothers arrested after beating Mahaica fisherman with cutlasses

Two brothers were arrested on Tuesday as police ranks continue their search for two others who broadsided a Mahaica, East Coast Demerara fisherman with cutlasses.

Sushil Nagasar, a 35-year-old Fisherman of Coconut Walk Mahaica was wounded by four brothers, all from Unity, Mahaica.

According to a police report, Nagasar was at a Chinese Restaurant at Unity Village Monday night when the four brothers rushed into the restaurant, all armed with cutlasses and broadsided him several times about his body.

He received wounds to his toes and hands.

He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient in a stable condition.

Two of the suspects were arrested earlier Tuesday evening. They were found hiding in a septic tank.

Their mother tried to mislead the Police ranks by informing them that her sons were not at home.
